‘‘You must come before me empty and let me fill you with my love.’
Week 39 of the Calendar Year

As I sit this morning, I ask God to help me come into Sacred Presence, well. Suddenly fire erupts in my head and in my heart. A fire of love floods me. I know this is fire of the Holy Spirit. I know it is the presence of love in me… Then I say, ‘Welcome.’ and I realise I do not know who is speaking. Is it me, or is it the fire? It is impossible to distinguish. Then I understand, or hear with my inner hearing,
‘At the level of truth, there is one voice. One love, one peace, one joy, one justice. At the level of truth, all is one’.
I am in absolute awe and wonder. I stopped to re-read some pages in the previous journal, which I am doing as a practice of integration. It was the 14th of July, Book 25. In awe I read of the day Mechthild and Christ spoke to me of The Book of Love inscribed on my heart. Exploding with fire to read it again. Then I sat again and set the timer for 10 more minutes. Lost in awe, I asked Christ what words I could possibly find to use to thank Mechthild and Jesus. I heard,
‘It is my honour and my joy to fill you with my love. Receive my love in the same way I give you my love, in honour and in joy.
…
‘To receive my love, you must become my love. Come before me empty. You know not the day nor the hour when I will choose to fill your cup with my love. You must come before me empty, ready to receive my love.’…
Unlike the women who were told to have their oil lamps full, you are to come to me empty and I fill you with my love. … Burn in the fire of my love and become who I AM. As the golden chalice melts into molten gold in the furnace, you dissolve in the fire of my love and become who I AM. You are fire in my fire, joy in my joy, love in my love. … You must come before me empty and I fill you with my love.’
Fire exploding in my body the whole time.
