An invitation to engage with your Awakening through your own sacred writing.
Sacred writing, or in Latin, Scriptio Divina, is an ancient spiritual practice, especially among women, to engage the path of Awakening.
The term was coined by Professor Stephanie Paulsell of Harvard Divinity School. What is unique about Scriptio Divina, by contrast to ordinary journaling is that our writing both responds to the sacred experience of meditation, and is itself a sacred practice. With Scriptio Divina we welcome the Sacred to flow beyond the meditative experience, into our sacred journal so that our writing becomes an integral part of the whole experience.
Accessible to all, Scriptio Divina offers a sacred way of engaging your inner life and connecting with what is most calling to you at the time. For those who are new to journaling or seasoned in the art, Scriptio Divina is a rich and rewarding practice.
The Scriptio Divina sessions will be a natural progression from the deep experience of my own spiritual awakening which was almost entirely processed in my daily meditation and journaling. All that I shared of my explorations of the path to awakening in my book Light on Fire came from re-reading, processing and integrating all that is in my journals. Now I want to help you to do the same.
I’ve been writing in one form or another all my life. To guide others I draw on my 20 year daily writing practice; ten years of meditation, mystical writing and sacred journaling; my 2024 MA thesis, “Scriptio Divina: Exploring the Transformative Nature of Medieval Women’s Visionary Writing.”; Winner of Hay House writing competition 2019; MA in Creative Writing (1st class hons); along with all my other writing projects.
I believe sacred writing is the single most important resource we have for walking the path of our Awakening. I look forward to welcoming and supporting you.

WHAT TO EXPECT
We will meet live on Zoom for 60 minutes. All you need is a quiet space and your journal.
Aedamar will lead a guided Visualisation-Meditation and hold space for sacred journaling. We will end with an Integration practice for what we have experienced.
Each of our sacred gatherings will provide an opportunity for us to come together to:
• Pause from the busy day
• Enter stillness through guided meditation
• Listen deeply for what arises within
• Write from that place of sacred experience
When we close our time, my prayer is that you will feel supported as you explore the sacred path of your awakening through your own writing and journaling.
Sessions are one hour long and held semi-regularly, following the rhythm of many sacred days of the Christian and Irish Celtic calendar. All are welcome to participate. You can sign up below. I look forward to welcoming you.
